About the Role

Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineer in Water and Sanitation to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in water and sanitation engineering design, with 8 years of experience in consulting. Our client is looking for someone who can lead projects from conception to completion, ensuring the delivery of high-quality outcomes while meeting project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Design and prepare preliminary and final plans for water and sanitation designs of bulk water networks, Storm & Flood water,
Sustainable Hydrology design, Pumps & Pipeline design,
Pumpstation design, Slurry design, Sewer & Sewage Pumpstation design, Urban drainage design, and Water Resource planning and management.
Ensure the estimation of project cost, drawing-up of contracts and developing of specifications for labour, material, and equipment.
Develop preliminary engineering treatments to determine construction feasibility and estimated cost.
Prepares final layout drawings and stress calculations.
Recommend construction methods best suited to soil types encountered.
Discuss plans, specifications, and works schedules with contractors, utility companies and other governmental agencies.
Ensure the survey, staking, layout, and inspection of construction projects.
Ensure the set-up of the project and project meetings.
Ensure project reviews, quality assurance, cost control, health & safety and invoicing of the project.
Prepare a Close-out report.
Compile a project budget and monitoring thereof to optimise cost savings and/or profit margins.

Requirements

A relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent
BEng/ BSc Eng/ BTech (Civil Eng)
Registered as Pr. Eng / Pr. Tech
8 years of experience in Water & Sanitation Engineering Consulting
Experience in Water & Sanitation Engineering Design
Experience in Site-based work
Knowledge of Water & Sanitation Engineering Design
Knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety laws and regulations
