About the Role
Our client, located in Hatfield, Pretoria, is seeking a skilled IT Support Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with toll systems, Linux/Oracle environments, databases, and networking infrastructure. As a technically skilled professional, you’ll provide second-level support for system uptime, troubleshoot complex issues, and work both remotely and onsite at toll plazas.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain PCI compliance and system stability
- Monitor system performance and preempt issues
- Support remote toll plaza sites with hardware, software, and network issues
- Collaborate with teams to resolve lane/plaza incidents
- Maintain inventory and submit reports
- Provide end-user support both onsite and remotely
Requirements
- Technical skills in Oracle Systems & Databases (must be able to support, troubleshoot, and maintain Oracle applications)
- Linux expertise (comfortable with RedHat, Debian, or similar Linux systems, including troubleshooting and recovery)
- Networking knowledge (able to maintain and troubleshoot LAN/WAN connections, switches, and remote communication links)
- Toll Systems Knowledge (previous experience with toll plaza systems is advantageous)
Qualifications
- Matric / Grade 12 essential
- Relevant tertiary qualifications/courses
