About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Hand with a proven track record in construction management to join our team in Stellenbosch. As a key member of our site-based operations, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate site setup, leading teams, and overseeing project deadlines. Your expertise in construction activities and leadership skills will be invaluable in driving productivity and quality on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Set out new sites accurately in accordance with drawings, measurements, and specifications
- Read and interpret construction plans to ensure correct levels and alignments
- Guide site teams accordingly
- Assist with finishing works such as plastering, screeding, snag lists, and final handover preparation
- Maintain productivity and workmanship standards on site
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Lead Hand or senior site-based role within the construction sector
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans
- Strong leadership skills and ability to supervise and coordinate small teams
- Hands-on competence in general construction activities
- Solid understanding of health and safety requirements on construction sites
- Relevant construction experience; formal construction qualification or trade background will be advantageous
