About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Treasurer to join our dynamic team in Cape Town, South Africa. As a key member of our global Commodities Trading company, you will play a critical role in managing and monitoring our South African treasury position, ensuring liquidity, and maintaining robust cash flow forecasting to support international trading operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate cash flow forecasts covering trading, operational, and financing activities.
- Collaborate with the Group Treasurer to ensure adequate liquidity levels and proactively highlight potential risks.
- Liaise with trading, logistics, and finance teams to ensure timely forecast inputs and collection of trading proceeds.
- Manage trade finance and debt positions, ensuring strict compliance with financing facility tenors.
- Support and maintain critical relationships with banks and external financiers.
- Calculate and provide accurate financing cost information related to various trading activities.
- Assist in identifying new financing opportunities and expanding existing borrowing facilities to support business growth.
- Track and report on Holding Certificates and related product releases.
- Monitor foreign exchange (FX) positions and associated risks in collaboration with Financial Control.
- Process trade finance requests and coordinate operational documentation to meet contractual funding obligations.
- Adhere to group treasury policies, ensuring sound governance and internal controls.
Requirements
- Qualification & Experience:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 13 years experience in treasury, banking, corporate finance, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of cash flow forecasting, trade finance, and debt instruments.
