About the Role

A well-established automotive engineering company based in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Skilled Mechanic with in-depth expertise in diesel injectors, diesel pumps, and turbocharger systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and dependable professional to play a key role in ensuring the optimal performance of specialised diesel components.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct thorough inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel injectors, diesel pumps, and turbocharger systems.
Perform advanced fault finding on mechanical and fuel-injection systems.
Overhaul, calibrate, and test diesel components to manufacturer standards.
Replace, repair, and assemble parts with precision to ensure optimal performance.
Maintain detailed documentation of all repair, maintenance, and test work completed.
Liaise with suppliers and support the procurement of parts and materials as required.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organised, and compliant workshop environment.
Provide guidance and support to junior mechanics when necessary.

Requirements

Matric or equivalent.
Relevant mechanical qualification, trade certificate, or diesel-related certification.
Proven experience as a Skilled Mechanic with strong knowledge of diesel injectors, pumps, and turbochargers.
Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and fuel-injection systems.
Excellent diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and testing specifications.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
High attention to detail with a solid commitment to quality and safety standards.
