About the Role

Hydropower Systems is seeking a qualified Electrician to join our team in Welkom and Orkney, South Africa. As an experienced electrician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in our mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment
• Fault-finding and diagnostics on electrical components
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, mine regulations, and company procedures
• Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections
• Support commissioning and operational activities on-site
• Complete accurate technical reports and documentation

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician (Red Seal / Trade Test essential)
• Minimum 35 years experience in an industrial or mining environment and must have underground experience
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards and compliance
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license (advantageous)

Qualifications

• Completed secondary education (Matric)

Salary & Benefits

$80,000 – $120,000 per annum, depending on experience
