Our client in the chemicals industry is looking for a suitable Technical Sales Consultant to:
• Set in motion, keep in motion all factors and forces capable of achieving strategic marketing objectives.
• Achieve budgeted volume and revenue targets through effective tactics of persuasion, communication and product strategies.
• Operate and control the sales territory and customer portfolio.
• Market the company’s products and services to the allocated customer portfolio according to the guidance of the Marketing Plan and Branch Manager’s guidance.
Main Duties:
• Develop and service the allocated territory and customer portfolio by example to achieve territory budget targets and growth expectations.
• Implement the sales strategies for the territory and sales channels/segments as agreed with the Branch Manager.
• Proactively seek new business opportunities and identify new needs and wants in the marketplace. (Entrepreneurial Spirit)
• Ensure pricing strategy is followed and profitability (IR %) targets met.
• The compilation and submission of monthly/quarterly sales reports and volume forecasts and advice the Branch Manager of changing market conditions.
• The regular reporting of marketing information encompassing inter-alia, customers, competitors, economic and credit information.
• The timeous submission of all monthly sales reports (including customer visit reports and weekly call planning schedules)
• The protection and maintenance of the relevant Market Shares in the respective segments
• Maintain open internal & external communication
• Direct selling to identify key accounts to ensure growth and targets are met.
• Handle all customer product quality complaints and back-up services.
• Maintain and safeguard company property and the Confidentiality of Company information and affairs.
• Participate in stock take on a monthly basis.
• Accurate Forecast to minimize Working Capital requirements
• Maintain all systems and procedures of the Company including awareness of the credit status of the customers.
• Adhere to the laid down levels of expenditure at all times.
• Maintain all approved policies of the Company.
• Adhere to the company Safety standards.
• Participate in regular local management meetings to foster good management, team building and performance excellence.
• Improve company image by networking and being actively involved in applicable functions and technical seminars.
• Set a high standard of performance by example, attitude and behaviour.
• Contribute positively to a total integrated culture with total customer orientation as a key performance area.
Requirements:
• Recognised Business Qualification
• Minimum qualification (C&CI Level 4) Concrete Mix Design Experience
• Grade 12 and a formal qualification in Marketing and or Sales
• Computer Literate (MS Office)
• Excel – Ability to analyse sales and data
• Professional PowerPoint presentations (Presenting Skills)
• Previous selling experience in Construction environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Strong customer service orientation
• Sound administrative and organizational skills
• Previous negotiation skills required
• Initiative & enthusiasm
• Valid driver’s license
• Professional Selling & Negotiating Skills
• Key Account Management
• Credit Control Management
