About the Role

Public Discipline and Integration of Technology is seeking a skilled and experienced Security Systems Technician to join our team. As a key member of our security solutions division, you will be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting CCTV and Access Control systems in high-risk environments. With a strong technical background and excellent communication skills, you will work closely with clients to understand their security needs and deliver tailored solutions that meet their requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Install and commission CCTV systems (IP and analogue)
Install, program, and commission Access Control systems and controllers
Configure NVRs, DVRs, servers, switches, and related network components
Perform cable installations including Cat5e, Cat6, fibre, and low-voltage power
Install cameras, mounting hardware, maglocks, strikes, readers, and power supplies
Ensure installation quality meets PDIT standards and client specifications
Execute preventative and corrective maintenance on systems
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair technical faults
Respond to service calls within SLA timelines
Document all repairs, configurations, and system updates

Requirements

Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with CCTV and Access Control systems
Experience and certification with one or more of the following Hikvision, Avigilon, Impro, or similar platforms
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals
PSIRA registration advantageous
Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport
Ability to work independently and within a team
Clear criminal record
Willingness to work overtime or travel when necessary

Qualifications

Completed National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
