About the Role
Hire Resolves’ client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Buyer in Cape Town. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and negotiating contracts for goods and materials needed by the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to analyze market trends to ensure the best purchasing decisions are made.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable agreements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and requirements.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Maintain accurate records of all purchases, contracts, and pricing information.
- Analyze market trends and pricing data to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Proactively identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes.
- Collaborate with the finance department to track and manage budgetary constraints.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in procurement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in using purchasing software and other relevant computer applications.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with local and international suppliers and markets.
