About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Python Developer to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the team, rewriting legacy ETLs using Python, managing migration to modern low-code platforms, maintaining clear and accurate process documentation, building and enhancing high-quality, maintainable software, testing, deploying, and reviewing code while supporting new features. Our ideal candidate has 5 years of experience with Python, PHP, REST, and FastAPI/Django, strong Linux, relational databases, Git, and ETL development skills, and a proven track record of managing code releases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the in-house development team
  • Rewrite legacy ETLs using Python
  • Manage migration to modern low-code platforms
  • Maintain clear and accurate process documentation
  • Build and enhance high-quality, maintainable software
  • Test, deploy, and review code while supporting new features

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience with Python, PHP, REST, and FastAPI/Django
  • Strong Linux, relational databases, Git, and ETL development skills
  • Experience with static typing tools (mypy) or strongly typed languages
  • Proven experience managing code releases
  • Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize work; retail experience a plus

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Certifications in Python, Linux, or ETL development (optional)
