About the Role

Our client in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Electrician to join their team in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in concrete manufacturing and be proficient in working with Siemens S5 PLC’s. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining plant equipment, ensuring minimum production downtime, and producing high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Competent to work on Siemens S5 PLC’s.
  • Fault finding and Panel building.
  • In conjunction with the Maintenance Foreman, work towards upholding the efficiency of the plant.
  • Ensure the minimum downtime as a result of electrical breakdowns.
  • Maintain all electrical equipment to the highest working and safety standards.
  • Order and maintain sufficient electrical spares and equipment to meet requirements.
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance of the Curing Equipment.
  • Assist with mechanical repairs.
  • Ensure that all the requirements of the OHS Act are conformed with.
  • Ensure that the planned maintenance system is maintained.
  • Safety Co-ordination of works safety system in liaison with the Safety Committee.
  • Abide by Company Safety, Personnel and Operational policies as amended from time to time.

Requirements

  • N4 with Trade Test – Wireman’s License will be an advantage.
  • PLC Experience will be an advantage.
  • 3 Years working experience in Industrial Maintenance environment and panel building experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Able to read drawings. Good hand / eye co-ordination.
  • Self-motivator
  • Good communication skills with all levels.
  • Normal production working hours – after hours as / when required

Salary & Benefits

Basic Salary: R 19 000 – R 22 000 CTC per month. Pension fund / Medical aid
