About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to join our 5-star hotel in Plettenberg Bay. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of all F&B outlets and employees, ensuring guest satisfaction, and supporting the Food and Beverage Manager in achieving profitability. With a strong background in hospitality and excellent leadership skills, you will play a crucial role in driving our success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day operations of F&B outlets
- Understand employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees’ absence
- Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work tasks
- Ensure that all sick leave, annual leave, family responsibility leave, and any other absenteeism is duly reported to HR on the prescribed forms
- Assist in the ordering of F&B supplies, cleaning supplies, and uniforms
- Get to know and personally engage with regular guests
- Monitor all guest complaints, actioning steps where necessary
- Perform monthly stocktaking and ensure tight control over F&B security to avoid damage or theft
Requirements
- Post Matric Hotel School qualification in Food and Beverage
- 2-3 years’ experience in a 5-star hotel restaurant or similar environment
- Computer literacy
- Good understanding of the Micros point of sale system
- Previous leadership role
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent numeracy skills with and understanding of finance
- Good wine knowledge
- High level of English proficiency
Qualifications
- Matric Hotel School qualification in Food and Beverage (if applicable)
