About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client, a leading mining company, is seeking a skilled Metallurgical Foreman to join their team based in Krugersdorp, Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing metallurgical operations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and promoting a culture of collaboration within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental regulations within the plant during your shift, following MTR Operations Safety Standards, Policies, and MHSA procedures.
- Communicate clearly with staff and various disciplines to promote understanding and adherence to instructions and regulations.
- Hold regular team meetings to discuss production, safety, and work-related matters, fostering a culture of collaboration.
- Provide clear directives and offer guidance to the team in addressing problem areas.
- Plan, lead, organize, and oversee operations within the designated area, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Carry out all reasonable and non-routine tasks assigned by the Plant Manager or Senior Metallurgist.
- Manage process conditions and prioritize breakdowns to ensure timely repairs and minimize production downtime.
- Maintain sufficient critical spare parts inventory on-site to facilitate quick replacements.
- Track and document process equipment maintenance, ensuring compliance with maintenance schedules and standards.
Requirements
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
- Supervisory course or First line manager course
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in metallurgy / related field.
- Min 5 years experience in metallurgical operations
