Junior Industrial Sales Person – Steel Metal Fabrication Services Permanent Position | in Johannesburg nearly near Roodepoort Preferably must be able to start immediately. Must be willing to relocate near the Company – essential (as the company does not pay for your Petrol coming to work or going back to your home) Industry: Metal Fabrication / Engineering / Manufacturing Matric (Grade 12) essential. 1–2 years’ sales experience (any technical/industrial sales is beneficial). Strong interest in engineering, fabrication, or technical industries. The Junior Sales Person will be responsible for supporting the sales function by identifying new business opportunities, generating leads, maintaining customer relationships, and promoting the company’s metal fabrication capabilities. The role requires a motivated, energetic individual who can learn quickly, understands basic technical concepts, and can confidently engage with clients in the engineering, construction, manufacturing, and industrial sectors. This role is ideal for a young professional with strong communication skills, a passion for sales, and interest in engineering or fabrication. Technical certificate or diploma in Fabrication, Engineering, Welding, or Manufacturing (beneficial but not required). Past exposure to metal fabrication workshops or industrial client environments. Working Conditions: Office on-site client visits. Some travel required within Gauteng (fuel reimbursement or vehicle allowance depending on package). Monday–Friday normal office hours, with occasional after-hours when needed for client demands. Identify and pursue new business opportunities across target industries (manufacturing, construction, mining, industrial engineering, fabrication). Conduct cold calling, emailing, social media outreach, and site visits to generate leads. Visit client sites to understand fabrication needs and identify opportunities for quoting. Maintain an active pipeline of prospects and opportunities. Client Engagement s Relationship Management Develop strong relationships with new and existing customers. Provide professional customer service, ensuring enquiries are responded to promptly. Assist clients with understanding fabrication capabilities, including materials, cutting, bending, welding, assembly, finishing, and bespoke fabrication work. Sales Support s Quoting Gather technical information from clients to prepare RFQs (Request for Quotation). Work with internal estimators, engineers, and production teams to prepare accurate quotes. Assist in preparing and presenting proposals to clients. Follow up on outstanding quotations and convert them into sales orders. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and sector developments. Identify potential new sectors or applications for fabricated metal products. Update CRM with all leads, opportunities, meetings, and follow-ups. Prepare weekly and monthly sales activity reports. Ensure all documentation, contracts, and customer data are accurate and up to date. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Basic understanding of engineering or metal fabrication processes (training provided). Ability to read simple drawings OR willingness to learn. Confidence to meet clients, conduct site visits, and present solutions. Driven, target-oriented, and self-motivated. Good computer literacy (Email, MS Office, CRM systems). Reliable with strong attention to detail. Any exposure to metal fabrication, welding, machining, or manufacturing. (Advantageous) Existing customer relationships in relevant industries. (Advantageous) Ability to understand or interpret technical drawings. (Advantageous) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Monthly lead generation targets. Number of customer visits and engagements. Conversion rates: quotes . orders. Monthly and quarterly sales targets. Customer satisfaction and repeat business. Accurate and up-to-date CRM usage. Behavioural Attributes Professional and well-presented. Energetic, enthusiastic, and willing to learn. High work ethic and integrity. Able to work independently and within a team. Positive attitude with resilience and persistence. Monthly Salary -: R 15 000 – R 25 000 Gross Commission on top ( Salary package is dependent on skills, Qualifications and years of relevant experience only) Discretionary Annual Performance Bonus Please note there is a Pension Scheme which will be taken off your Net Salary, which is not negotiable.
