Job Description

Hire Resolve, a leading recruitment agency, is currently seeking a skilled Civil Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s team in Cape Town. As a Civil Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs and contractual matters on various construction projects.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering projects and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
  • Conducting quantity take-offs and measurements
  • Managing and controlling project costs, including tracking and reporting on cost variations
  • Preparing and analysing tender and contract documents
  • Sourcing and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Providing advice on contractual claims and settlement of final accounts
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering projects
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering construction processes and materials
  • Experience or capability to manage a civil project with values of R200 million
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and meet project deadlines
  • Experience in both GCC and FIDIC forms of contracts would be an advantage
