Job Summary:
Hire Resolve’s Client are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Environmental Consultant specializing in the mining industry to join their team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing expertise and guidance to our clients in navigating complex environmental regulations and ensuring compliance in mining operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for mining projects and provide recommendations for sustainable development.
- Develop and implement environmental management plans to minimize the impact of mining activities on the environment.
- Monitor and evaluate compliance with environmental regulations and standards set by local and national authorities.
- Provide technical support and guidance to mining companies on best practices for environmental management in the mining industry.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that environmental considerations are integrated into mining projects from inception to closure.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and technologies to provide informed advice to clients.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders through reports, presentations, and meetings.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental consulting, specifically within the mining industry.
- Knowledge of local and national environmental regulations related to mining operations.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Certification or registration as an Environmental Consultant or Professional (e.g., CEnvP, P.Geo) is a plus.
- Proficiency in GIS software and other relevant environmental monitoring tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
