About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s team in Johannesburg. The client is seeking professional quantity surveyors to join their company and work on prestigious commercial projects, leveraging their expertise to deliver precise cost estimates and effective cost control strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and submit precise cost estimates for commercial projects.
- Examine project specifications and devise cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborate within a team to meet client requirements effectively.
- Craft and oversee project budgets, adhering to financial protocols.
- Monitor and oversee project expenses during construction.
- Coordinate with project managers and engineering units to enforce cost control strategies.
- Perform thorough cost analysis and comparison to pinpoint potential savings.
- Deliver routine progress updates and financial projections to senior leadership.
- Engage in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors for favorable terms.
- Guarantee adherence to pertinent regulations and industry norms in all activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
- Must be registered with the ECSA as a Professional Quantity Surveyor
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in quantity surveying
- Proven track record of successfully managing costs for commercial projects
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in budgeting and cost control software like CCS Candy
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and MS Projects
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Capable of thriving in a high-speed work environment
- Professional certification or registration as a Quantity Surveyor is preferred
