About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join a luxury wilderness reserve in Clanwilliam, Western Cape. As a key member of our team, you will support outlet management in day-to-day operations while ensuring an exceptional guest experience and maintaining the highest standards of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support outlet management in daily operations and guest engagement during peak meal times
- Control and manage operating equipment stores, including purchasing and issuing equipment to outlets
- Plan and execute food and beverage special events, contributing to promotional ideas to drive revenue and PR
- Finalise staff rosters, ensuring sufficient labour in line with business levels while controlling labour costs
- Manage operating costs in accordance with budgetary requirements
- Coordinate training within the department to maintain high service standards
Requirements
- Diploma in Hotel or Food & Beverage Management
- Minimum of 4 years experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel, including at least 2 years managing a food and beverage outlet
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Experience operating Point of Sale systems; Micros advantageous
- Experience with stock management systems; FnBShop advantageous
- Exposure to Opera system advantageous
- Highly presentable with excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Fluent in hospitality terminology, particularly food and beverage vocabulary
Qualifications
- Micros Symphony exposure
- WSET Level 1 (wine and food pairing) and Level 2
- Training and staff development experience
