Job Description
- Formal qualifications in agriculture or related fields.
- At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in mushroom cultivation, with a strong understanding of the entire process (compost making, growing, and harvesting).
- Extensive knowledge of different mushroom varieties and growing conditions.
- Experience in scaling mushroom production for commercial purposes.
- Familiarity with organic or sustainable farming practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems related to growing, pests, and environmental conditions
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Strong communication skills, ability to train and guide team members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
- Prepare and manage the compost process, ensuring optimal conditions for mushroom growth.
- Oversee the entire mushroom growth cycle, from inoculation to fruiting, ensuring healthy yields.
- Implement effective pest and disease management strategies.
- Ensure proper harvesting techniques and post-harvest processes are followed to maintain product quality.
- Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, light) and ensure that growing conditions are optimized at all stages.
- Work with the cultivation team to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
