Job Description

Key Responsibilities

– Support the calculation and analysis of Technical Provisions for financial reporting accuracy.
– Assist with preparation, review, and analysis of IFRS 17 actuarial inputs.
– Contribute to the development, testing, and maintenance of IFRS 17 models, processes, and controls.
– Collaborate with actuarial, finance, capital, and audit teams to ensure compliant and reliable reporting.
– Drive improvements in methodologies, reporting frameworks, and automation initiatives.
– Research and apply actuarial principles to niche insurance products and business requirements.

Job Experience and Skills Required

Education:

– Degree in Actuarial Science with strong academic performance.
– Nearly / newly qualified actuary (ASSA or equivalent).

Experience:

– Minimum 3+ years’ working experience, ideally in the shortterm insurance industry.
– Strong reserving and reporting experience; general insurance exposure advantageous.
– IFRS 17 / IFRS experience desirable (not essential).
– Project management exposure advantageous.

Skills:

– Programming skills (VBA, R, Python or similar) and strong data literacy beneficial.
– Excellent analytical and problemsolving capability.
– Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management.
– Ability to work independently and thrive in a collaborative environment.
