About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Data Analyst to join our team in Pretoria, South Africa. As a key member of our financial services and trade division, you will be responsible for providing insightful data-driven recommendations to stakeholders using Power BI. Your primary focus will be on analyzing sales and marketing data to identify trends, patterns, and optimization opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop compelling and forward-thinking reports and control panels using Power BI
- Compile statistical data from Financial and Trade divisions and disseminate it regularly to relevant stakeholders
- Uncover insights from sales and marketing data to identify tendencies, patterns, and improvement opportunities
- Conduct research on industry standards and ensure that correct metrics are used as benchmarks
- Extract and transform data from various sources, including MySQL-, MS SQL- and PostgreSQL-databases
- Clean and process data prior to ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Assist with database administration, including workflow optimization and security
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure data integrity and availability
- Work on data engineering tasks, such as data science training development and ETL processes (Extract, Transform, Load)
- Optimize data collection and retrieval for effectiveness
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Sales, Marketing, and IT, to collect and provide data-driven insights
- Develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 qualification
- Relevant tertiary qualification with a focus on Business/Finance/Accounting/Economics or 3 years of work experience in the Credit/Bank/Financial sector as required
- Or 3 years of work experience in VVPB-Kleinhandel/FMCG industry
Qualifications
- Data analysis and visualisation skills are essential
