About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cost and Management Accountant to join our team at Communicate Finance in Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and cashflows for smaller group companies, as well as overseeing inventory transactions and ensuring reconciliations between stock and finance systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and cashflows for smaller group companies
• Oversee inventory transactions and ensure reconciliations between stock and finance systems
• Drive automation and process integration between operational and finance systems
• Manage accounting processes and financial reporting for multiple group entities
• Prepare audit schedules and support the audit cycle as required
• Ensure strong cost control, accurate accruals, and disciplined working capital management
• Lead, mentor, and coach accountants responsible for inventory and smaller group entities
• Set team objectives and monitor outputs to ensure accountability and high performance
• Enforce finance policies, procedures, and deadlines across the team
• Foster a collaborative, disciplined, and results-driven work environment
• Produce accurate monthly and quarterly financial reports aligned with IFRS
• Report on inventory movements, reconciliation results, and financial performance of group companies
• Conduct variance analysis on stock movements and direct operating costs; provide insights and recommendations
• Manage the relationship between auditors and Finance, resolve audit queries timeously
• Review and approve audit schedules for completeness and IFRS compliance
• Assist Senior Manager: Finance with audit coordination and cross-department deliverables
• Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Finance teams to ensure accurate processes
• Work with external partners, auditors, and service providers to resolve queries and maintain compliance

Requirements

• 10 years finance experience within a medium-sized organisation
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a finance management role
• Completed SAIPA/SAICA or equivalent articles (essential)
• Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, and management reports
• Strong understanding of IFRS and South African reporting standards
• Experience working across multiple financial and operational systems
• Strong cost accounting and variance analysis capability
• Proven audit preparation and audit support experience

Qualifications

• Grade 12
• BCom Honours in Finance/Accounting or 6 years aviation experience
• SAIPA/SAICA or equivalent professional certification
• CA(SA) (advantageous)
• Experience with accounting software packages (advantageous)
