Johannesburg: Finance Manager – Finance Services for Mining Industry – R1.1M – R900K posted by Hire Resolve

Job Description

Hires Resolve has partnered with a small mining company to find a Finance Manager to join their Finance department at their offices in Sandton.

The Finance Manager is responsible for implementing accounting systems and processes, preparing monthly financial reports and controlling the master data of the general ledger of the organization. Furthermore, preparing income tax statements and conducting audits of the company finances. 

Responsibilities 

  • Overseeing the duties of the Finance/Accounting team
  • Implementing accounting systems and processes for the organization
  • Reviewing the company’s systems and analyzing risk
  • Undertake financial audits to determine the organizations financial position.
  • Preparing the companies monthly financial reports
  • Prepare financial statements, including monthly and annual accounts.
  • Control the master data of the general ledgers
  • Reconcile income statements
  • Detect and prevent financial fraud that may arise
  • Review and release online banking payments
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors (where applicable) and deal with any financial irregularities as they arise
  • Arrange financial management reports, including financial planning and forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with the South African Revenue service

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, Honors degree preferred
  • Completion of Articles
  • 5 years proven experience post articles.
  • Registered with The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA)
  • Experience with filing of corporate tax returns
