About the Role
The Manager: Business Solution Support position is a critical role that oversees the operational support for business systems in the Financial Markets Department (FMD), ensuring the completion of daily operations in domestic money, foreign exchange, and fixed income markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the Business Solutions and Information Management Unit by setting clear objectives and targets.
- Prioritize work, manage resource utilization, and control costs.
- Manage staff performance and support career development.
- Ensure sufficient depth of knowledge and skills, and implement a succession planning strategy for the unit.
- Provide input into FMD’s strategic plan in line with the group’s strategy.
- Represent FMD as a senior team member for system change projects.
- Manage system upgrade expectations.
- Manage critical IT-related incidents for FMD.
- Monitor project timelines for support staff members.
- Validate and prioritize change requests received.
- Develop and compile operational plans and budgets.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to the unit’s functions, ensuring compliance with governance frameworks.
- Represent FMD on internal and external committees and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Actively manage knowledge-sharing in the team.
Requirements
A minimum of Honors degree (NQF8) in Finance or IT or an equivalent qualification;
At least eight to ten years experience in the financial markets environment, with at least three years experience in a leadership/managerial role.
