About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Enrolled Nurse Assistant to join our team at Complete Healthcare Services in the Western Cape. As an Enrolled Nurse Assistant, you will work closely with patients in their homes or facilities, providing high-quality care and support to individuals with various medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide basic care and assistance with personal hygiene (washing, dressing, grooming, feeding, support with moving, toileting)
- Administer medications under supervision of the registered nurse or family members
- Document patients’ condition and progress
- Monitor vitals of patients and record
- Perform basic wound care
- Manage feeds of tracheostomy babies using a feeding pump
- Observe changes in patient condition and record in daily reports
- Write reports in good English
- Assess sleep routines of patients and discuss with registered nurses to plan adjustments accordingly
Requirements
- Ability to work on a one-to-one basis with patients in their homes or facilities
- Strong understanding of treatment plans set out by other team members (doctor, NSM, or physiotherapist)
- Good communication skills with supervisors, colleagues, patients, and family members
- Knowledge of dealing with emergency situations with a patient in their home
- Knowledge of Geriatric Care, Paediatric Care, Dementia Care, Post Stroke Care, Ventilation Care
- Familiarity with Catheter care (indwelling, supra pubic, intermittent) and prevention of pressure sores in bedridden patients
- Good knowledge of trachea care or experience working with tracheostomy patients
Qualifications
- Level and Accreditation Diploma as a qualified Enrolled Nurse
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
- Receipt of SANC registration
