About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Clamping Technician to join our team in Durban. As a Clamping Technician, you will be responsible for performing clamping and de-clamping duties for clients at numerous depots daily.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out the clamping and unclamping instructions effectively and according to the standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure that clamping units are tested with Control Room and confirm that the unit is active, updated, and that the battery level is full.
  • Ensure that the correct units are attached according to the pre-advice reports.
  • Keep management informed and updated on all relevant issues and incidents.
  • Ensure all relevant data pertaining to the clamping and unclamping of units are sent to the supervisor/Control Room promptly to ensure that they are tracked and monitored effectively.
  • Use company vehicles and other company equipment responsibly and follow the policies of the company in this regard.
  • Report any problems pertaining to the equipment immediately to the clamping supervisor.
  • Answer all telephone calls in a polite, friendly, and professional manner.

Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF level 4).
  • Valid Code 8 drivers license with minimum two years driving experience.
  • PSiRA (Grade C).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Experience in report writing.
  • Two (2) years proven working experience in a safety/security/high value cargo environment will be beneficial.
  • Knowledge and experience in tracking units will be beneficial.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
