About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Three Rivers, Vereeniging. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in financial reporting, tax compliance, and payroll management, with proficiency in Draftworx, VAT, PAYE, and SARS processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with applicable standards.
- Use Draftworx to prepare and review draft financial statements.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting to management.
- Tax Compliance:
- Manage VAT and PAYE calculations, submissions, and compliance.
- Handle SARS-related queries, audits, and reconciliations.
- Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and ensure compliance.
- Payroll Administration:
- Oversee payroll processing, including calculations, deductions, and submissions.
- Ensure compliance with statutory payroll requirements.
- General Accounting Duties:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledgers.
- Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, creditors, and debtors.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Regulatory and Compliance Activities:
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with junior accountants and provide mentorship and guidance.
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial operations and decision-making.
Requirements
- Completed SAICA qualification.
- Diploma in Accounting.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting roles.
- Proficiency in Draftworx, Pastel, VAT, PAYE, and SARS processes.
- Experience with payroll systems and processes.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
