About the Role
The Workforce Group Ltd is seeking a skilled Code 10 (DGP) Driver to join our client in Montague Gardens, Cape Town. As a Dangerous Goods Driver, you will be responsible for transporting hazardous materials safely and efficiently. You will also be required to perform manual tasks such as picking stock, packing stock, loading, and offloading, which can involve heavy lifting.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and transport hazardous goods in accordance with health and safety measures
- Identify and resolve mechanical malfunctions in vehicles
- Operate the vehicle in a time and fuel-efficient manner while minimizing safety risks
- Familiarize yourself with local transport topography, including roads and alternative routes
- Maintain a valid Code 10 (DGP) licence with a valid PDP and firefighting certificate
- Perform manual tasks such as picking stock, packing stock, loading, and offloading
Requirements
- Matric
- 3 years driving experience
- Valid Firefighting certificate
- Valid First Aid certificate
- Valid and current Code 10 (DGP) licence with valid PDP
- Experience driving a 5-ton truck or heavier
- Knowledge of areas in Cape Town, particularly Northern Suburbs and Southern Suburbs
- No drug/alcohol habits
- Medically fit
