About the Role
The Site Services Manager will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and management of site utilities, including water, air, and electricity, across all plants in Durban. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and the ability to lead a team to drive improvements and cost reduction.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure effective implementation of all maintenance relating to site utilities
- Analysis and reporting of utilities data to drive improvements and cost reduction
- Maintain service level agreements at required standards
- Ensure contractors comply with relevant SHE requirements
- Manage projects to completion and handover
- Lead the asset care strategy
- Drafting and managing of budgets
- Apply engineering standards correctly, as per regulations
- Assist plants with problem solving of engineering/operational problems relating to utilities
- Analyze breakdowns relating to utilities and implement continuous improvement
- Support services teams with startup and shutdown of equipment
- Ensure proper standby and callout roster is in place and effectively managed
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety procedures
- Maintain company standard housekeeping in their areas of work and responsibility
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years experience in managing utilities and projects in a services environment
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude and strong understanding of services equipment (Transformers, Switchgear, Compressors, Chillers, Pumps, and Solar)
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, comfortable dealing with complex data
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence at various levels of the organisation
- Highly self-motivated, energetic, composed, and able to motivate others
- Proficiency in English (read, write, and understand clearly)
