About the Role

The AI / Machine Learning Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions within the banking and finance sector. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable, efficient AI/ML architectures that support the organisation’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop end-to-end AI and machine learning architectures aligned to business goals and compliance standards.
  • Evaluate, select, and integrate appropriate AI and machine learning frameworks, tools, and platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse business requirements for AI/ML solutions.
  • Lead the creation of data pipelines and feature engineering processes to support machine learning models.
  • Ensure robust model deployment strategies, including monitoring, optimisation, and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation covering design, architecture, and operational procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing processes through AI and machine learning techniques.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements relevant to AI and machine learning in banking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing AI and machine learning solutions, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, deep learning techniques, and statistical modelling.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI/ML such as Python, R, or Java.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries including TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, or similar.
  • Knowledge of data engineering concepts, including ETL processes and working with large datasets.
