About the Role
Our client in the FinTech space is seeking a junior Fund Accountant to join their team in Stellenbosch, supporting the day-to-day financial management of the Fund and ensuring accurate reporting, covenant monitoring, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor system outputs and transaction data
- Record and reconcile all purchase order funding and invoice factoring transactions
- Track capital deployment and repayments per transaction
- Maintain detailed ledgers by SME, obligor, and funding mandate
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition (interest, fees, administration charges)
- Monitor settlement timelines and identify exceptions
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of all Fund bank accounts
- Track funding inflows, repayments, interest receipts, and fee payments
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies timeously
Requirements
- BCom Accounting / Finance / Financial Management degree
- 3–5 years’ experience in fund accounting, trade finance, asset-backed lending, or structured finance
- Strong reconciliation and transactional accounting experience
- Preferred: Completed articles (SAICA / SAIPA / CIMA)
- Experience in private credit, factoring, or working capital finance
