About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Griller to join our team in Durban. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food to exact specifications, ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Cooking & Preparation: Season, prepare, and grill menu items (burgers, steaks, vegetables) according to recipes and portion sizes.
- Grill Management: Monitor, adjust, and maintain appropriate grill temperatures to ensure optimal cooking and food safety.
- Quality & Speed: Ensure food is cooked to the customers preference, served on time, and presented professionally.
- Hygiene & Safety: Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards (e.g., proper food storage, rotation).
- Maintenance & Cleaning: Clean, sanitize, and maintain the grill, tools, and work area.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with kitchen staff and waitstaff to ensure efficient service.
Requirements
- Experience: Proven 3 years experience in a professional kitchen, specifically with grilling, baking, or similar methods.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, work in a hot environment, and lift heavy items.
- Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple orders simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of different grill types (charcoal, gas, wood) and cooking temperatures.
