About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Draughtsman to join our team in Paarl, responsible for creating detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings for agricultural equipment and mechanical machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Create comprehensive 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings
- Oversee projects from initial sales handover through to release for manufacturing
- Collaborate with factory teams, international designers, and suppliers
- Accurately dimension mechanical components
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Monitor factory assembly processes and resolve technical challenges
- Conduct site visits to address design issues
- Contribute to continuous improvement by applying innovative design solutions
Requirements
- 35 years experience in mechanical drafting
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk preferred)
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes and mechanical component design
- Experience in agricultural equipment, high-speed machinery, FMCG, or manufacturing environments is advantageous
- Demonstrated interest or passion for agriculture and emerging technologies in the sector
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field
