About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and creative Head Chef to lead our kitchen at our rural retreat and convening space. As part of a unique and purpose-driven culinary experience, you will design seasonal menus inspired by garden-grown and locally sourced ingredients, while creating inclusive dining experiences catering to diverse dietary needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design seasonal menus inspired by garden-grown and locally sourced ingredients
  • Create inclusive dining experiences catering to diverse dietary needs
  • Lead kitchen operations with excellence in quality, presentation, and nutrition
  • Drive food cost management, stock control, and supplier relationships
  • Ensure exceptional hygiene, safety, and kitchen SOP standards
  • Bring innovation, creativity, and wellness-focused culinary trends into the kitchen
  • Oversee baking and pastry offerings

Requirements

  • 5–7 years’ experience in a senior back-of-house or chef leadership role
  • Strong culinary creativity with an eye for detail
  • Experience in pastry and baking
  • Passion for sustainability, wholesome food, and conscious hospitality
  • Ability to lead calmly in a dynamic, multi-functional environment
  • Strong organisational and kitchen management skills
  • Excellent supplier and team relationship management

Qualifications

  • Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
