Job Description: Lead mechanical design activities, including the creation and review of 3D models, 2D drawings, and bills of materials for commercial vehicle systems Manage engineering data within CAD and PLM/PDM systems, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and configuration control Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver manufacturable, compliant design solutions Conduct design reviews and ensure designs meet customer, regulatory, quality, and manufacturing standards Support product development from concept through production, ensuring technical deliverables and project milestones are achieved Provide technical support and identify opportunities for design optimisation, cost reduction, and product improvement Skills & Experience: Minimum 7 years post-graduate experience in mechanical design, preferably within the automotive or commercial vehicle industry Proven experience in developing mechanical components and assemblies, including 3D modelling, 2D drawings, and bills of materials Advanced CAD experience (NX preferred), with strong knowledge of engineering data management systems (PDM/PLM) Strong computer literacy, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with digital and AI-enabled engineering tools Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams Qualification: Matric BEng, BSc, or BTech degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
