Job Description

International Tour Operator is looking for a (Helderberg based) Reservations Agent for its fast-growing branch in Somerset West, South Africa. Dealing directly with international clients & agents as well as accommodation suppliers over email and telephone Liaising with internal sales teams for scheduled-, tailor-made-, group-, and individual tours Combining destinations and appropriate lodges according to booking requests Issuing of invoices according to booking requests Managing block-bookings and booking-allotments Managing the reservations process for bookings until completion of travel Monthly Salary: After probation: R15,000 (first year), R16,000 (second year) basic salary, plus ca R7,000 in average commission, plus R1,000 standby allowance (total income per month: ca 23,000) Thereafter, based on progression, increase of average commission to ca R10,000 per month (total income per month: R27,000) Place of Work: Hybrid initial training period at the office and thereafter 1 -2 days per week at the office with the possibility to work the rest of the week from home or at the office This role is ideal for someone who enjoys detailed work and problem solving. You will need to be organised, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The job involves a lot of information and special cases, so attention to detail and clear thinking are essential. We are looking for someone who doesnt just follow processes, but understands how their work affects the wider team, the business, and our clients. Matric 3 years of experience as a Reservations Agent, Travel Agent, or a any other role in the travel and tourism industry Good destination knowledge of Southern Africa Fluent in English (written and spoken) Good telephonic manner and excellent communication skills Extraordinary time management and organizational skills Ability to multi-task efficiently and possessing exceptional attention to detail whilst working under pressure. Ability to understand the bigger picture of the reservations processes beyond the task at hand Ability to build positive supplier relationships Ability to work as a part of a team as well as independently Highly self-motivated Computer literate and good working knowledge of Microsoft package (especially Excel, Word, and Pdf) If you are passionate about Africa as a travel destination and seeking a varied and challenging position with an international travel company, then send your CV, a motivational letter, and contactable references to:
