About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client is urgently seeking the expertise of a Senior Engineer in Cape Town to design and develop renewable energy systems according to relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design of renewable energy systems according to relevant regulations and standards.
- Conduct site inspections to accurately design and cost new projects.
- Draw up budgets for proposed new projects.
- Create detailed drawings for information and construction purposes.
- Perform all necessary calculations and documentation required for utility approval.
- Create as-built drawings.
- Measure and create bills of quantities for installations.
- Accurately simulate system performances and/or productions.
- Form part of the commissioning team on site during project commissioning.
- Assist with any engineering-related operations and maintenance issues.
- Assist in creating design tools for the engineering department.
- Assist the project-specific Project Manager with any engineering-related project-related issues.
- Lead a design team of Project Engineers, Interns, and Draughtsmen to complete designs.
- Review designs from project engineers and interns.
- Professionally approve designs for compliance to regulations and standards.
- Professional sign-off on plants for compliance to regulations and standards.
Requirements
- A minimum qualification of PR Eng in Electrical Engineering.
- Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist.
- Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of design and visualization software.
- Ability to work with multiple disciplines of projects.
- Ability to work across multiple projects in parallel.
- Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices.
- Ability to work within budgets and to deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Creative.
