About the Role
As a Quality Engineer at Profile Personnel, you will be responsible for planning, defining, and leading all departmental project activities to ensure high-quality products and efficient management signoff processes. You will drive product improvements by investigating root causes of top faults and escalating to the causing area to enhance the Direct Run Rate.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and driving all projects related activities for QAVM EOL during different phases, ensuring units are tracked and routed through correct processes and audited within agreed timelines.
- Identifying and understanding new product and process part changes for MY and New model introduction, presenting to the team for ease of understanding and inspection.
- Representing QAVM EOL at inter divisional projects meetings, highlighting non-conformities and opportunities for improvements to streamline or enhance processes.
- Performing and approving fitment trails of new and changed product parts prior to introduction with responsible departments, ensuring parts conform to required quality specifications and desired quality standards.
- Preparing and presenting project units to management, providing knowledge and background of each unit, relevant information, and documentation for management signoff.
- Providing information on ECRs and deviations to the team, ensuring awareness and understanding of changes and expectations for quality during inspection or DKA audits.
- Escalating processes when quality requirements are not met, taking early preventative actions by responsible stakeholders to meet deadlines.
- Generating project investment requirements and controlling expenditure within approved budgets, helping to set financial objectives with QAVM EOL Manager.
Requirements
- National Diploma/Degree in an Engineering field
- Minimum 5 years relevant automotive manufacturing experience
- Understanding of the vehicle build process and required quality output (e.g., EOL & Assembly)
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle release processes
- Knowledge of vehicle components and systems
- Working knowledge of equipment, fixtures, and tools used in the shop
- Good computer skills (MS Office package, SharePoint, and company Group systems)
