About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Head Sommelier to lead our premium wine programme in a 5-star Sabi Sands lodge environment. As a senior wine professional, you will be responsible for managing cellar operations, leading training, and delivering world-class guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the wine programme and overall guest wine journey
- Manage wine procurement, cellar standards, stock control, and reporting
- Host tastings and curate bespoke wine experiences for VIP guests
- Train and mentor the F&B team on wine knowledge, pairing, and service standards
- Ensure consistent service delivery across meal services and special events
Requirements
- Advanced wine qualification (WSET Level 3 minimum preferred)
- Strong luxury lodge or fine dining experience essential
- Proven leadership and training capability
- Excellent guest engagement, communication, and service recovery skills
- Strong admin, reporting, and computer literacy
