About the Role
Hire Resolve is seeking a Logistics Supervisor to join their team in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of logistics and ensuring the efficient movement of goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with the Head office, contractors, and port agents regarding port plans
- Reconcile RMT and train transfers to the port from the Mining Group
- Reconcile and oversee stock transfers in port and stock transfers to staging and loading areas for vessel loading
- Manage and oversee the use and efficiency of third-party port assets, stockpile management, labelling, and scanning process
- Ensure the correct product is loaded
- Oversight of the SGS sampling procedure during the offloading of trains and RMTs, as well as during the shifting of Cargo and loading of the vessel
- Communicate and propose improvements in operational efficiencies
Requirements
- Logistics/Supply Chain Degree or similar qualification
- At least 5 years of cargo and stockpile management experience at a port
- Must be computer literate
- Excellent Excel skills advantageous
- Good writing, reporting, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Must be willing to travel and have a valid drivers license
- Must be willing to travel to port after hours on an as-and-when-required basis
- Willing to travel to other ports in South Africa and Maputo
- Proactive and Confident
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Organizational and problem-solving skills
- Dedication to the tasks at hand and willingness to go the extra mile when needed
