About the Role
Our client is seeking a Category Manager to join their team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of ironmongery experience, including door handles, locks, window fittings, door hinges, bolts, door numbers, skirting, door stops, robe hooks, and letter plates. This role involves managing a merchandise or related department within the retail industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category strategies
- Merchandise solutioning
- Financial management, including budgeting and profitability optimization
- Build and maintain stakeholder relationships
- Ensure high levels of customer service
- Lead and manage a team effectively
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Minimum of 2 years’ ironmongery experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Business Administration
- At least 5 years’ experience in Category Management or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership role
- Experience managing a merchandise or related department/division
- Experience in a merchandise, procurement, or sales environment (desirable)
- National-level experience
