About the Role

A leading Construction company is seeking an experienced Creditors Controller to join their team in Cape Town. This role offers a unique opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to perform routine accounting activities, ensuring accurate payments and maintaining credit ratings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Match invoices to requisitions, purchase orders, and GRNs while ensuring correct GL coding and VAT application.
  • Reconcile creditor statements and process timeous payments to maintain credit ratings and secure settlement discounts.
  • Prepare monthly creditor reports, payment schedules, and assist with balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain the vendor master listing and resolve supplier queries professionally.
  • Ensure all audit deliverables meet standards and assist the B-BBEE team with Social Economic Development tasks.
  • Maintain accurate filing systems and support management with ad hoc financial tasks as required.

Requirements

  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in an accounts payable environment with direct responsibility for payment processes and reconciliations.
  • Matriculation / Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in finance or equivalent.
  • Certificate in the use of Pastel and/or QuickBooks.
  • Prior experience working with BuildSmart Accounting Software.
  • Established knowledge of accounts payable systems and general accounting principles.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
