Job Description
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Diploma or Degree in Mining Engineering or related qualification
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a mining planning role
- Previous mining contractor experience (non-negotiable)
- Experience in underground mining (platinum environment advantageous)
- Proficient in mine planning software (e.g. MineRP, Deswik, Datamine, Surpac or similar)
- Advanced MS Excel and reporting skills
- Sound knowledge of the Mine Health & Safety Act
- Valid Driver’s License
Advantageous:
- Mine Overseer Certificate of Competency
- Exposure to mechanised and/or conventional underground operations
- Experience in budgeting, cost tracking and contractor performance monitoring

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain short-term and medium-term mine plans
- Compile daily, weekly and monthly production schedules
- Monitor production performance against plan and report variances
- Coordinate planning inputs with Mining, Engineering, Geology and Survey departments
- Identify production bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions
- Track equipment availability and optimise resource utilisation
- Participate in planning and production meetings
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory standards
- Prepare detailed operational and planning reports
