About the Role

Our client, a growing logistics and distribution business operating across multiple Southern African markets, is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the finance function in Mozambique, a key strategic growth market for the group. This role requires a commercially minded, hands-on finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and enjoys being close to the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance function for the Mozambique operation
  • Ensure strong financial controls, governance, and compliance
  • Partner with operational teams to support commercial decision-making
  • Manage financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Oversee cash flow management and working capital optimisation
  • Drive financial visibility and performance across the business
  • Forex negotiations with the banks
  • Support regional leadership with strategic financial insights

Requirements

  • BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification
  • Proven experience in a commercial finance / finance manager role
  • Experience in logistics, distribution, automotive, or equipment sectors advantageous
  • Strong understanding of financial controls and operational finance
  • Ability to work hands-on in a dynamic, fast-moving business environment
  • Portuguese language skills advantageous
  • A proactive, resilient individual with strong problem-solving ability and grit
