Job Description
Prepare, review, and post audit journals and monthend journals.
Compile and review Annual Financial Statements (AFS) in line with IFRS
Reconcile and maintain asset and liability schedules
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packs
Support senior finance management with internal and external reporting
Actuarial & Insurance Accounting
Liaise with actuarial teams to process and interpret actuarial liabilities, including:
Policyholder liabilities
IBNR
Reserving inputs
Valuation model outputs
Ensure accurate reflection of actuarial movements in the general ledger
Taxation
Perform corporate tax calculations, including provisional and deferred tax
Assist with tax returns and ensure SARS compliance
Audit & Compliance
Prepare audit supporting documents and manage audit queries
Ensure adherence to Companies Act and insurancerelated regulatory requirements
Systems & Process Management
Use Pastel and Sage for financial processing and reporting
Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives
Deadline & Reporting Management
Manage strict finance and regulatory reporting deadlines
Partner with crossfunctional teams to gather inputs and deliver accurate submissions
We’re looking for:
Solid technical accounting knowledge (IFRS, financial reporting, tax)
Experience in insurance or financial services advantageous but not essential
Proficient in Pastel and Sage
Strong Excel skills
High accuracy and attention to detail
Strong analytical and problemsolving ability
Ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Collaborative mindset suited to a young, innovative team
Proactive and adaptable in a fastpaced environment
Qualifications:
