Ladysmith: Production and Maintenance Foreman

Duties & Responsibilities Coordinate production schedules to meet deadlines and optimise workflow. Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs). Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the supply chain to maintain necessary stock of raw materials. Maintenance Coordination: Schedule and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions and breakdowns promptly. Ensure all machinery and equipment are maintained in optimal working condition. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment history. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance productivity and efficiency. Collaborate with the quality supervisors to address product defects and implement corrective actions. Utilise lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and optimise resource utilisation. Health and Safety: Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all employees. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits. Address any safety concerns or violations promptly and effectively. Experience & Qualification: Matric Related tertiary qualification (advantageous) 4-5 years experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Proven experience in maintenance coordination and equipment troubleshooting. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proficiency in using production management software (ERP) and maintenance tracking systems. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
