This position is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of complete Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions tailored to client requirements. The role involves
engineering, configuring, and deploying MES solutions, with potential integration into SCADA, PLC, and ERP systems. The Senior MES Engineer will ensure seamless system functionality, optimization, and support, while also providing technical leadership and guiding project execution to successful completion.

Key Job Responsibilities:
Engage with clients to understand and clarify their Manufacturing Execution System (MES) requirements, ensuring feasibility and alignment with business objectives.
Gather all necessary specifications and information to enable efficient planning and execution of MES projects.
Design and develop MES solutions tailored to customer needs, ensuring cost-effectiveness and scalability.
Lead technical development, configuration, and deployment of MES solutions.
Conduct comprehensive testing and validation to ensure system functionality, performance and integration with plant control systems.
Oversee the implementation and commissioning of MES solutions at client sites, ensuring optimal functionality and seamless integration with xisting systems.
Provide client training and technical support, ensuring users can effectively operate and maintain the MES system within its design constraints.
Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including system architecture, configuration details, and user manuals.
Offer post-project system support and troubleshooting, addressing client needs as required.
Act as a technical lead, guiding junior engineers and ensuring best practices in MES implementation and system integration.

Requirements:
5+ years of experience in MES engineering, with a strong background in system integration and industrial automation.
Expertise in TrakSYS MES is essential, including configuration, deployment, and customization.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, real-time data acquisition, and integration with SCADA, PLCs, and ERP systems.
Exposure to the mining, manufacturing, or processing industries is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of database systems (SQL) and industrial communication protocols (OPC, MQTT, Modbus, etc.).
Ability to lead projects independently, manage multiple priorities, and work directly with clients.
Experience with Aveva System Platform or Ignition is an advantage.
Experience in industrial control system design and implementation is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:
Degree or Technical Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent NQF level).
