About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Accountant to join a dynamic and growing premium property rental company in Cape Town. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial records while contributing to effective reporting and operational decision making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting functions including processing, maintaining, and reconciling financial records
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy across all financial transactions
- Process creditor payments, perform bank reconciliations, and manage debtor and creditor accounts
- Assist with monthly management reporting and annual audit preparation processes
- Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure accurate tracking of company assets
- Prepare and submit statutory returns including VAT and payroll related submissions
- Administer monthly payroll processes ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and support management with financial insights
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Work closely with management to support accurate reporting and facilitate financial processes across departments
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting or a related field, with a BCom Accounting
- Minimum of 3 years relevant accounting experience within a structured hospitality finance environment
- Strong working knowledge of VAT, payroll processes, tax compliance, and e Filing
- Proven experience with accounting systems such as Xero
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify discrepancies and implement effective solutions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with internal stakeholders
- High level of integrity with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly
