About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious and highly presentable Assistant Lodge Manager to join the management team of a 3-star lodge in Zululand, KZN. As the face of the lodge, you will act as the General Manager’s right-hand person, gaining exposure to every facet of running a luxury remote lodge. The lodge specializes in high-end heritage tourism and battlefield tours, with a focus on meaningful staff-guest interaction and creating an immersive atmosphere for travelers from around the globe.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the welcome experience at the Front Desk, handling reservations (SEMPER), and ensuring a high level of personalized interaction, particularly in the dining room environment.
- Assist in managing staff across various departments including Housekeeping and Kitchen.
- Step in to relieve the General Manager and oversee stock control and general administrative duties.
- Ensure the lodge’s reputation for excellence is maintained through meticulous attention to detail in all public and guest areas.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a lodge environment with a solid understanding of general management and staff supervision.
- 100% fluency in English with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in reservation systems (knowledge of SEMPER is a distinct advantage).
- A valid driver’s license, with having your own vehicle highly recommended for personal travel during leave.

Salary: ZAR 9000 per month. Live-in position with private en-suite accommodation. All meals and laundry services provided.
