About the Role
Hire Resolve is seeking a talented and experienced Stormwater Engineer to join their team in Cape Town, WC. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting stormwater management planning, flood line estimation, and designing infrastructure systems for proposed municipal civil services projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct stormwater management planning using PCSWMM software package
- Perform hydrological calculations, hydraulic model compilation and calibration/verification, conceptual earthworks modelling, and drafting in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Estimate flood lines utilizing HEC-RAS 1-D software package
- Compile tender documentation related to stormwater infrastructure and Schedules of Quantity
- Prepare and present technical reports including services reports and tender evaluation reports
- Draft designs for piping systems, utilities, roadways, and other infrastructure systems in 2D and 3D formats
- Interpret civil engineering drawings and building plans to determine placement of utility and piping systems
- Read maps and land surveys to note land grading, nearby structures, and other factors affecting piping and utility system placement
- Adhere to city, county, and local laws regarding design and building code requirements and submit proposed design plans for government approval
- Review sketches and drawings of proposed designs to ensure standards are being followed and plans are accurate
- Manage documents, reports, tenders, and contracts, including taking site meeting minutes and reviewing construction programs
Requirements
- Minimum tertiary qualification (B Eng or B Tech)
- ECSA Professional Registration (advantageous)
- 5 – 7 years experience with specific Stormwater Analysis, Assessment and Design experience as a pre-requisite
- Experience in both greenfield and brownfield projects
- Experience with GCC2015, SABS1200 & COLTO
- Knowledge and experience in working with AutoCAD, Civil Designer Software and/or Civil3D
- Knowledge of cost estimating of different design development options
- Experience in using the latest software and technologies to develop effective designs
- Experience with and knowledge of ISO quality requirements
